AMALIA LUI — FOUNDER
Tanzania Legal, Investment & Strategic Adviser
Amalia Lui is a Tanzanian lawyer and international adviser with more than 16 years of experience working across law, investment, transactions, finance, regulation, policy and major projects in Tanzania and across Sub Saharan Africa. Having trained and practised with leading international law firms, including in London, she brings international standard transaction and advisory experience together with a strong understanding of Tanzania’s legal, regulatory, institutional and commercial environment.
She served as a Partner at a UK headquartered international law firm following senior transactional roles within the firm, advising on matters across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and other African markets and working closely with teams in London, Dubai, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Nairobi. That international experience, together with her understanding of how business is done on the ground in Tanzania, continues to shape the standards, commercial judgement and approach to delivery adopted across the wider advisory team.
She leads a Tanzania focused advisory practice supporting businesses, investors and institutions throughout the investment and business lifecycle — from market entry, investment structuring and regulatory strategy to acquisitions, joint ventures, financing, project development, commercial arrangements, government engagement, policy matters and the implementation of complex transactions and projects.
The practice works across a broad range of sectors, including energy and extractives, infrastructure, financial services, real estate and construction, telecommunications and technology, consumer and industrial businesses, and other sectors attracting investment and supporting economic activity in Tanzania.
Clients include international and regional investors, multinational and listed companies, private equity and investment funds, banks and financial institutions, development finance institutions, project sponsors and developers, entrepreneurs and locally owned businesses, development organisations and public sector institutions.

This flexible model enables us to assemble the right combination of experience for each client and each stage of an investment, transaction or project.
